As if performing on stages as a singer, musician & actor isn't enough, alvin frazier takes on film in his first on-screen role in the upcoming independent film drama "Crystal Teardrops". In the film alvin plays Robert "Bobby" Barns, the estranged husband of Crystal Barns a woman caught in the middle of trying to save her marriage & her family.

The project reunites alvin with his "The Bridge of No Return" co-star Sabrina McPherson who stars and plays his wife "Crystal Barns" in the film. Music & now Film Producer Myron Davis will be writing, directing and scoring the motion picture. Film production has already begun with the cast shooting on location with additional filming to take place in the Spring 0f 2012.

With new music, acting roles in plays & in movies under his belt, alvin frazier may very well be on his way to establishing himself as a "triple threat" in the entertainment industry this year. Stay tuned...

It appears that making his mark in the music world just isn't enough for Eastbrook Music recording artist: alvin frazier. The multi-faceted artist will now be adding acting to his credits. We recently learned that alvin has been cast as the leading man "Patrick Fitzgerald" in Anwar Shahid's stageplay "The Bridge of No Return" adapted from author Stella Hall's novel of the same name. The play also features Grammy Award-winning recording artist Joe Little of The Rude Boys as "Winston Jefferson" & Carla M. Smith as the beautiful leading lady "Felicia Stanford" along with an amazing supporting cast to include: Sabrina McPherson, Sahannah Suave, Danny McGinnis, Ki Ki Siggers, Emmanual Hooks, Cassandra Blackmon, Christopher Moore, Kenneth Robinson & Leah Rice.

What many may not know is that alvin had appeared in over 7 stage productions prior to the release of his first album over 6 years ago. Even doing double duty as a director / actor for one of them. "I actually enjoy acting as much as I enjoy music, of course music is my first love...artistically speaking. I took acting classes in high school for a time and I've studied acting techniques since I was young. I'm very excited about acting again." the artist stated.

The play is scheduled to be in Cleveland for ONE SHOW ONLY at the Cuyahoga Community College theater on November 19 at 7pm. The production is in the process of scheduling a tour set to begin in Spring 2012. A dynamite story with a spectacular cast. The Bridge of No Return is a must see with an ending you won't believe!!!

Eastbrook Music recording artist: alvin frazier has recently been scheduled as an opening act for legendary funkateers Parliament-Funkadelic feat. George Clinton and The Ohio Players as a part of the "Family Unity Day in the Park" festival on July 30th.  alvin and The Love & Faith Experience will perform a 45-minute set containing songs from his debut album "Love & Faith: Vol. 1" as well as tunes from his upcoming release "A Wonderful Love: L&F Vol. 2" Check the calendar for more details.

Shelby Brown, Detroit Sax Man, to Play at Nighttown Saturday With Cleveland Native Alvin Frazier

The musicians will perform a Frazier composition that appears on Brown's new CD

Shelby Brown, a contemporary jazz saxophonist from Detroit, had ulterior motives when he persuaded Cleveland musician Alvin Frazier to join his 30-day tour of Asia in 2008.

Brown already appreciated the diverse musical talents that Frazier brought to live performances.

“As a musician, he’s superb,” Brown said by telephone from Detroit Wednesday, while he was preparing for his upcoming show with Frazier at Nighttown. “He sings, he plays multiple instruments, and he’s a songwriter.”

Before the two men met, a mutual friend suggested Brown listen to some of the original music on Frazier’s website. The sax man fell in love with Frazier’s I’m in Love Again.

“I’ve got to have this song on my record,” he told himself. “I used the tour I was going on as bait to get Alvin to let me use that song.”

While they toured Japan, South Korea and Singapore, Brown wrote songs for his new CD, The Meaning of Life. Before the pair headed home, not only had he convinced Frazier to let him use the song he wanted so passionately, Frazier offered to perform it and record it.

“I drove in and recorded that song in Cleveland,” Brown said. “Alvin engineered it. Alvin is an extraordinary human being. You don’t meet too many genuine people these days. He is one of those people you can depend on.”

Brown, who recorded the rest of The Meaning of Life in Detroit, tends to write music that “feels good to the spirit” and “will move people whether it’s slow or fast.”

 His goal is to produce music that warms the heart and relaxes the senses.

“I’d like to have a song in your car CD player that causes you to miss your exit,” he said.

But there will be a lot of energy when Brown and Frazier take the Nighttown stage on Saturday. Brown also likes to share some of his life experiences with audience members. 

“They can expect to feel some warmth from me, some encouragement, some motivation,” Brown said.

Brown's passion other than performing is passing down his love of music to youngsters. He has helped create the Music Diversion Program, an organization devoted to helping families who cannot afford instruments for their children and starting arts education programs in public schools without them. 

He said he'd like to be successful enough to walk into a concert in any city, see 40 kids out there and say, “Here. Have some instruments.”

Brown and Frazier will perform I’m in Love Again live for the first time together at the show, which starts at 8 p.m. at Nighttown, 12387 Cedar Road. Admission is $15.

Hopefest, the annual charity benefit and music festival has just recently added alvin frazier to it's roster and he will be bringing his "Love & Faith" Experience to Stow on Saturday July 24th at noon. The artist is scheduled to open the festival and perform a 60 minute set. Other artists scheduled to perform also include former American Idol contestant Sean McNeil.

Eastbrook Music recording artist alvin frazier is slated to perform and be a panelist during the summit which is in it's fourth year and will be held in Atlanta September 24 - 27.

In three short years, alvin frazier has built a reputation of being one of the best live performers from the Northeast Ohio area. Great vocals and musicianship along with energetic yet heartfelt performances have pushed this Chrisitian Soul artist to the front of the pack.

The magazine's website has recently published that alvin frazier's "I Miss You" from his debut album "Love & Faith: Volume 1" has reached number 1 on it's All Indie Picks Charts.

As a Light of Liberty Church Praise & Worship Leader, Alvin Frazier is familiar with taking his audience to new spiritual heights. Now the singer-musician is hoping to do the same with his sophomore project "Love & Faith: Vol. 2," which is due out next spring.

"Lyrically, it'll still be a Christian-themed album of course but you'll still have some jazz elements there, some soul and some R&B flavor," said Frazier, a 1994 East High School graduate. "I'm not going to alienate those who enjoyed my first album, so it's just going to be a mature growth and show some versatility. . . . I don't want to duplicate the same album."

New songs already in his live set include the R&B ballad influenced "Wonderful Love" and the up-tempo jazz-inspired "The Calling." Frazier is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Nighttown, 12387 Cedar Rd., Cleveland Heights.

Delightful Music , a popular music website in Japan selected alvin frazier's debut album "Love & Faith: Volume 1" as one of the Top 50 Best Albums of 2007 . The album ranked No. 21 in the listing and was in the company of releases by artists such as: J Moss, Tonex, Chaka Khan, O'Bryan, Keysha Cole, Angie Stone, JOE, Frank McComb, Musiq Soulchild and Jaheim to name a few.

In April of 2007 alvin held the No. 2 spot on the site's Top 10 CD's of the Week for 3 consecutive weeks before falling to the No. 3 position after the release of JOE's "Ain't Nothin' Like Me". Love & Faith would remain at the No. 3 position for an additional 2 weeks. Two tracks from the album "Star" and "Beautiful" were included in the site's Top 100 Best Songs of 2007 . After having recently returned from a successful month-long AFE Tour of Asia, alvin arrives back to the states to sign a 3-year deal with EMI that will cover the continent of Asia.

EMI which has been in existence for over 50 years and is home to some of the greatest artists and songs in music history is also the world's leading independent music company and operates in over 50 countries, will soon be adding Eastbrook Music to one of it's many partnerships.
"It's an awesome accomplishment for an independent artist with his own label. Distribution is a key component to getting your music to the people.." alvin stated.

The deal is conjuntion with Vyne Entertainment and Star Search Media which includes a radio promotion campaign and song licensing for the artist. Eastbrook Music plans to utilize the agreement to generate an american distribution deal which is in the planning stages. "From a business standpoint the distribution deals will give me and my label an avenue in which to put future projects into the hands of the people all over." stated alvin. His debut album "Love & Faith: Volume 1" will be re-released in Asia in the coming months.

"The Asian release will be slightly different than the original album. Some of the songs were remixed and remastered and the cover art slightly enhanced, but the feel and look of the album is the same."

Christian recording artist, alvin frazier recently signed on to go on a AFE Tour of Japan. The artist will be touring military bases as well as club venues throughout Japan and South Korea. alvin will be participating on the tour as part of the Shelby Brown Show. Shelby Brown is a smooth-jazz artist / saxophonist out of Detroit, Michigan. alvin recently wrote and produced a beautiful song entitled "I'm In Love Again" for Shelby's upcoming third album due for release next year.
